Subject: LEFT CH OUTPUT CKT APPEARS TO FAIL MORE OFTEN THAN RIGHT
Symptom: 111
Last Update: 2000-11-14
Status: Closed

Customer Description:
My experience indicates that the left channel outputs on these units fail
far more often than the right. The only significant difference I see is in
the overload circuit, specifically Q714, which is wired differently for
the left channel than the right. However, Q714 does not normally appear
defective, and we don't usually replace it, yet we have very few recalls.
If a defect in Q714 were the problem, we would expect the unit to fail
again. Any ideas?
Solution:
We have had reports of the right channel failing more often than the right
from the west coast. It appears that it may be coincidence that you have
seen a higher failure rate on the left channel.
